[UA] Telemancy

you know, I really like this idea, mainly because it's an example of
UA-ifying the ideas of the past. There used to be tales of co-location and
"action at a distance." How do you do that today? Telecommuting and phone
conferencing.
I get the feeling of being in many places at once when I'm involved in half
a dozen ICQ, IRC, email and real-world conversations at the same times.

I would think that things like long-distance communications, co-location
(perhaps even superpositioning of two locations at the high end), gathering
a smattering of knowledge (by "asking around") and appearing as someone you
are not (how often does that happen online, hm? :) would all be within the
purview of this school, I think.

The central idea that space does not necessarily limit communication and
influence ("I mean c'mon, how can you say that when I can hop online and
chat with a friend in Korea while bidding on books against a guy in South
Africa while my boss in Russia yells at me for not submitting my work
electronically yet?") is what would form the heart of the school, I think.

As for Taboos, the idea of never being able to refuse or end a conversation
is both interesting and neato, but (like all Taboos), I have trouble seeing
it being a real _paradox_. It works well enough, but I feel like there's
something else out there that might be better. Taboos are always the
hardest parts of schools in UA because they grow directly from the Taboo,
most of the time.

"Yah! Cthulhu's a pru-ude, Cthulhu's a pru-ude!" Nyarlathotep's singsong
taunt was taken up by a mixed shoggoth chorus, with a few dholes chiming in
to chant bass.
