Hmm.. That's a direction I wasn't orginally thinking about at all. Maybe
it's personal prefrence, but....
I think there were definitely some supernatural features to the riots that
didn't exist in our world, but would be a nice fit for UA. I'm imagining
lots of minor charges and maybe some significant ones for the
Annhilomancers and Kleptomancers I mentioned in my original post, for
instance.
According to Pg 117 of PoMoMa an Urbanomancer can gain a significant charge
if he were to "Interfere with the city in a significant way..." I'd
certainly think this qualifies. So....
Maybe we have Jeremy Jackson, and Angeleno Urbanomancer. He's been
watching this whole Rodney King thing on TV like everyone else and as he
sits in his front porch with a 40 staring at people as they walk by, he
gets an idea....
So, he gets ready and when the verdict in the trial comes back, he's one of
the few people in his 'hood who are pleased with the results. He can's
use The Madness of Crowds because, well, he wouldn't get much out of it,
except maybe a new VCR, and he doesn't have three significant charges
anyway. But he does know enough about mob psychology to get things sparked
up the old fashioned way. After that, he undoubtedly loses control, maybe
even gets himself killed during the fall out.
I think I like the feel of this one better. That could just be because one
of the things I like about UA is the street level vibe going on. Maybe
that's just 'cos I'm ghetto, though...
Thought? Any idea what sort of charges my hypothetical Urbanomancer might
get? His actions maybe have caused the riots, but does he get charges for
the disruption of daily life caused by the rioters? I refer to the
increased police presence afterwards, etc. NOT the riot itself.
