My instantaneous, just-this-second inspiration is that all the Washington
DC stuff (or at least L'Enfant's geometry and the monument) WAS tied in to
the schemes of some powerful cabal that got wasted some time in the 1800s
or early 1900s, and since then no one's been able to use it for its true
purpose.  All it seems to do now is get really wiggy when Cliomancers try
to charge up on connected sites...

Hm... anyone know a WHOLE lot about this stuff?  (Other than you, Ken, I'm
sure you're too busy.)  I'm actually planning on having the climax
something in "SpOrd" take place in the nation's capital...
