As Greg has already said, the "explanations" offered in UA for cattle
mutilation and spontaneous human combustion are completely ficitional.
In real life, these "phenomena" don't _need_ to be explained, for the
simple reason that they never actually happen.
Sources:
Cattle mutilation (as well as UFOs, alien abductions, Men in Black,
MJ-12, etc.): WATCH THE SKIES! A CHRONICLE OF THE FLYING SAUCER MYTH
by Curtis Peebles (Washington: Smithsonian Institution, 1994).
Spontaneous human combustion (as well as many hauntings and other
"unexplained" events): SECRETS OF THE SUPERNATURAL: INVESTIGATING THE
WORLD'S OCCULT MYSTERIES by Joe Nickell with John F. Fischer (Buffalo,
NY: Prometheus, 1988).
