The only Ellison/gaming story I ever heard was that, at some point, a
columnist for Inphobia (anyone remember Inphobia? Anyone? Anyone?) made
some cracks about him in a column, and Ellison wrote a letter in reply. A
long letter. A letter that scathes as deeply as, well, as deeply as you'd
expect Ellison to scathe.
It wasn't long after that that Inphobia shut its doors. I'm sure Ken
Cliffe could tell me the real reason, but I prefer to think it was a sort
of shockwave of humiliation radiating from that one columnist and infecting
everyone else involved.
