It's quite swell indeed. There have been three sequels and a television
series or mini-series, as well, though of those I've only seen Ring 2,
not Spiral or Ring 0: Birthday; there's also a Korean knock-off/remake
called The Ring Virus. It's quite the phenomenon in that part of the
world.
Ring 2 is quite horrifying as well, but it also has a heavy Quatermass
vibe of weird science. I've written lengthy reviews/summaries of both
films for the next issue of THE UNSPEAKABLE OATH, Pagan's Call of Cthulhu
magazine, which should be out in the next new months.
Distressingly, there's a Dreamcast video game based on this stuff just
out now, also called RING. I say "distressingly" because it doesn't
appear to resemble the films in any meaningful way. Still, I plan to rent
it soon and see what it's like.

BAR JOKE: A man walks into a bar. He has a few drinks and chats with
the bartender. Later that night, he goes home alone and reflects on
the poor decisions he's made in life. --Brodie Brockie & R.J. White
