Very nice. I like it.
To add in my two cents, I like to use hazy blurring vision and a feeling of
detachment or "distance" from the action (events move in slow motion, shouts
seem to come from far away, arms seem to move lazily, independant of your
intent, etc.) Obviously this is for more serious wounds, but it seems to get
the message across. (Besides, I need stuff that's good for serious wounds -
when I ran FtH last month, Simon (me) rolled 3 that's right count 'em 3
OACOWAs while shooting during the course of the game. Heh.)
Now this is pretty much guesswork on my part, never having sustained a
serious injury before, (not even a broken arm) but the players get all
worried when I describe it, so it can't be too bad. Also, if you want your
injury flavor text really graphic, there's nothing better than a Stephen
King book, (especially the older ones). Whether or not you actually like his
books, the violence can be gruesomely realistic. (when someone takes a good
wound to the gut, you don't get a small, neat bullet hole, you get bile and
that nice black liver blood, and even intestines if the wound is big
enough.) It's a good source if you want your games to have that kind of
feel.
Anyway,
