Matthew is currently 25.  He was born to aging hippies, new agers in
Milwaukee.  His parents George "Moonbeam" Laronson and Lana "Sunflower"
(Christiansen) Laronson called him Matthew "Skyfire" Laronson, but he never
took to it and doesn't use it.  His parent still reside there and own and
run a new age bookstore, The Crescent Moon.  Matthew's current residence is
in Syracuse, New York.  He has mailboxes there and at a Mailboxes, Etc. in
New York, NY.

Matthew's parents' attitudes have given him a skeptical view of the
paranormal.  He saw much of it as new age hocus-pocus.  He also saw it as
an oppurtunity to make some money.  His first criminal activities were
selling his marijuana and LSD and the like that he got from his parents.
His parents assumed he was using it for himself and were so open-minded
they never noticed that he immediately turned around and sold these drugs
to others.  Matthew drinks and smokes socially, but does not do hard drugs.
If he does get his hands on hard drugs he sells them off for easy cash.

He has very confused emotions about his parents.  He never understood, nor
condoned their views, but he also never agreed with them.  They affected
him by giving his mixed feelings on money and capitalism.

Matthew has come to see the value is everything.  He is ambivalent toward
capitalism, but sees it as a flawed tool and he intends to work the system
to his advantage.  He is not comfortable with capitalism and high finance
because of his parents' attitude toward the system.  Plus, his way of doing
things, which is criminal, is more fun.

Matthew has $2-300 tucked away in various savings accounts around the
country and an ATM card for each.  This gives him access to easy cash in
small amounts all over the place.  He does this because it lowers any
suspicions having large accounts would raise.

Matthew works by his connections: (1) a corrupt cop who he tips off to arms
and drugs shipments for a cut of the merchandise.  This cop, Randy, has
been promoted quite a bit because of Matthew's information on major busts.
(2) A friend in the family.  Louie is Matthew's connection to the
underground.  He is good for arranging deals and buying Matthew's wares.
He also offers some protection to Matthew.  (3) A member of the
dockworker's union.  Jimmie clues Matthew into what's coming into New York
Harbor.  In exchange Matthew arranges for him to get a little extra cash,
typically paid by Louie and his "family".  (4) A publicist and reporter.
Melissa is Matthew's occassional lover and also his main source for
information on public figures.  They do favors for each other all of the
time.  (5) Corrupt doctor willing to arrange phony prescriptions and get
various drugs when Matthew gets him the cash.

He is 6'1" with sandy blonde hair, dark blue eyes.  He's attractive and
pleasing to the eye.  He is also always well-dressed and is very
articulate.  He is also very straight.

Matthew is currently UNKNOWINGLY channeling the Merchant.  He suspects
something is up and next time we play he will be told of the concept of an
avatar, or at least it looks to be so.

Possessions:
A bulletproof briefcase.
A Glock 22 with a laser sight and 2 full clips of regular ammo.

$5000 in Cash.
Black book with contacts.

Latest Deal:  Word on the street was that the Russian mafia was bringing in
a massive shipment of light automatics into NYC to sell to the local street
gangs.  Matthew contacted his "friend in the family" to see whether Louie
would be interested in a couple of crates of guns and ammo that would be
pretty much untracable.  The "friend" was all over it.  Matthew then
contacted his cop "friend".  He would give the cop all the info. he needed
to make the big bust if Matthew was not mentioned in the reoprt and would
get several crates of guns and ammo that would conveniently "disappear".
The deal went through and Matthew passed the guns and ammo onto Louie.
These guns and ammo didn't even exist in any official records, except as
possibly in police custody.  The "family" got cheap, fairly untracable
guns.  The cop got an even better reputation for amazing busts.  Matthew
got a stack of cash and the definite possibility of future favors from both
sides of the law and still managed to remain anonymous to those he really
screwed over: the Russian mafia and the local NYC gangs.

himself.  The New Age movement is everything.

Fear Stimulus: (Helplessness/Self) Finding that amongst all the New Age
"truths", there is not TRUTH.
Noble Stimulus: New Religions.  Any new religion is worth thinking good
about, even if others call it a cult.
