You might be thinking here of Etrigan, a demon who was servant to (I think) Merlin according to some sources. Spoke in rhyme. That's about all that I know, and that's all from reading DC horror comics (he appears in an early issue of Sandman and many other places, maybe had his own series for a while) so take it with a grain of salt (whatever that means).

>i'm sure i remember reading somewhere in a "world of the occult"-type book a

>bound demon called "teragon" (or something like that) that did his bidding,
>thanks to it being caught in a king solomon-style ring. the thing is, i
>recently tried looking this up again in the mound of paranormal books i've
>got and couldn't find it anywhere. so does anyone else know anything about
>this teragon, or did my subconscious just make it up? enquiring minds must
>know (well, my mind specifically)
>in case you're wondering, it's actually for an LRP game i'm planning to run
>soon, i wanted to have a cabal of demon-worshipping types running the
>Western World and thought the teragon sounded cool
