UA - Some game mechanic tweaks suggestions for Combat

I have come up with some brief
ideas for chapter 5 mechanic tweaks.
I thought people might be interested,
so here they are.

A purely optional rule is (which will add an extra
step which might not be warranted in peoples
minds) is to force a knock down roll by any
blow that does at least 25% of a Characters
Wound Points - forcing them to make a
Body Roll, less the damage they have taken,
to avoid being Knocked Down as the
effect page 60 of the Hand-to-Hand Cherries.

I like this because I hate toe to toe slug outs
and people taking bullets with minimal effect.
I would also suggest that Bulletproof Vests (page 58)
be treated this way as Bullet Damage for these
Knock Down purposes. Hey it may not kill you
but your going to climb out of that plate glass window
you just got knocked through! ;)
Of course a BOCHICA or Failed Match should
perhaps leave the person temporaily unconscious.

"Special Rolls and Hand-to-Hand Damage"
(page 59) Optional rule.
Weapons with a Damage of only +3 bonus
rather than nothing special happening
multiply the figures. Obviously 1x1 should
be treated as 2, and 2x2 gives the same
result but for 33 and above, the damage
increases (this being 9), and if you good that knife etc,
will do some nasty damage at high levels
- but still less than if it was a +6 or +9 under
the existing rules. A simple addition that
gives knives, bats and nunchucka a decent
improvement in their lethality IMHO.

"Strangling"
(page 62)
Just a thought, if your being strangled
and struggling, I feel the use
of oxygen by your body
should perhaps halve how long you
can hold your breath...

"Permanent Damage"
(page 63) Optional rule
I think that 50 wound points should
read 50% of your wound points.
Else low averege and weak characters
will (in true murphy's fashion) never
be permanently injurable (if thats a word).
So only the tough guys will have or get scars,
as the weak will just die...although they will
have relatively unblemished corpses :)

On a general note (and I may have missed it)
it appears getting wounded does not in any way lower
your ability to use skills - although I feel that it is implied.
I was thinking that once below half a 10% penalty
should apply and once in single digits a 20% one
shoudl be in effect.

Any constructive feedback or other suggestions,
shall be looked upon fondly :)

Jason
