Planetary #1, by Warren Ellis. It's a comic book. It's in stores this
week. Why? Because Warren Ellis is better at tossing off strange and
wonderful ideas than almost any writer on earth.
It's about a group of three people who are archelogists for superhumans;
they look under the skin of the universe, to see the strange and
wonderful things that everyone else has forgotten.
"They all have signs. 'The Hull of the Charnel Ship.' 'Vestments of
the Black Crow King.' 'The Murder Colonels...' A trophy room."
That's a throwaway line from this issue. I dunno about you, but each
one of those sparks off scenario ideas for me.
