Ooh...what a coink-i-dink, considering the post I just sent off.
How does this strike you? Can demons somehow bargain with an infant?
Could the demon displace the soul of the newborn, sending the infant's soul
off to Never-Never Land, while it takes over the newborn body? Thus, we
have an explanation for both changelings *and* what kind of special,
faerie-like infant soul it takes to actually become a faerie, while most
infant mortalities just lead to a dead baby.
Hmm...I like, I like.
