My Alex Abel first (like most people's) uses his Vast Resources to see if
this is Mona's idea of a way out or revenge, or if she's an arrow in
Someone Else's quiver against him. If the latter, Mona's dead of
convenient accident and that aforementioned Someone Else is undergoing the
Worst Week Ever for as long as it takes to grind them into anchovy paste.
(Two words: "Sniper rifle." Two more words: "Family tragedy." Two more
words: "Drug-related arrest." Two more words: "IRS Audit." Repeat as
necessary.)
If the former, Alex probably puts Mona on ice (big empty mansion way off in
the boonies somewhere -- possibly South America or Africa, if she doesn't
know the local languages; free heroin, vodka and pain pills; 500-channel
cable including Brazilian pirate porn stations; and full time
bodyguards/companions to lead her into mindless lethargy and keep her
safely there and unpestered by others). Either way, Ruby, he saves (after
killing every other duke or peon who might even conceivably know of her
existence). She's a magickal Schroedinger's Cat-box -- is she his daughter
or not? Is she against Abel or for him? She's basically an incarnation of
Uncertainty as it manifests for Alex Abel -- like his own personal I Ching.
If he knows some magickal way to turn her powers on and off, he uses it,
but I think it's cooler if he just puts her into one of his vast companies
somewhere, being watched for the occult meaning of everything she does.
("Boss, the marketing V.P. you told me to keep an eye on had a tuna
sandwich for lunch." "Tuna -- ahh, Pisces ascendant. That's helpful. Have
the local house of the Order of St. Cecil burglarized; look for anything
related to our activities.") She'd make a great PC with a Big, Honking
Secret in her past, one she was sort of aware of (the "guilty Alex" cover
story).
When Push comes to Shove, he can either have ritual sex with her (the nice
version), or ritually cut her open and read her liver (the bad version),
the ritual being designed to collapse the wave function in a pro-Abel
manner. (He'll know it worked if the DNA test on her afterwards shows she
was his daughter all along.)
