I view Alex as a very self-centered guy. Something has to somehow benefit him
before he'll do it. To flesh him out as he will appear in my game (which hasn't
started yet... anyone in NYC looking to start a UA game?) I see him as analgous
to the Emperor in Star Wars or Sauron in LotR. He's very evil, has a lot of
power, but the main characters never really interact with him directly. Ruby as
she developed in my last message, OTOH, would make a great villain.

I get the feeling that Alex is very solipistic. In his mind, the world is a
stage and the show didn't begin until he started his quest for acsension.
Everyone else is a supporting character.

It will be interesting to see if and how Alex is developed in future
supplements. The character is open enough that can run the full gamut from
benevolent protector to malicious manipulator.
