I agree.  Some weird old book collector in Sheboygan is not going to want
to take over the world, nor would he attract the attention of the USG.  He
just wants to keep doing what he's doing...whatever the hell that may be.
Most likely his aspiration is to join the Invisible Clergy (and so he walks
the narrow, unpaved road of the avatar).

Most of the power in UA would seem to revolve around the Invisible Clergy,
thus taking over the world is sooooo bush-league when compared to being a
part of the *creation* of a cosmic reality.  Since humanity at large is
ignorant of these forces, it would appear that it's a game played solely by
the Occult Underground (I guess knowing about the Clergy would place you in
the Occult Underground), one that barely registers with the USG.

So in UA, the weird Underground types actually *do* "run your reality" --
except that the only control they need to excerise is that over their own
actions...

Does this make sense?  Should I go back to writing in all lower-case?  What
is that in the back of the 'fridge?
