Well, orginally I was thinking of the paradox as getting power from riding
the wave of new technology, but not being able to get off (refer to the
taboo in my original post).  And eventually, of course, you can't keep
riding so you fall off.  Computer magick also should be dated every few
months - what was magic last year is boredom today.  Get with the program!
