And, I suspect that after you obliterate the first IC member, every
Godwalker will come for you. And I'm guessing that the Comte would be
unhappy at this as well. It violates the natural order of things, and the
Comte seems like a traditionalist to me.

Personally, I can see the guy the original poster talked about
becoming an Avatar of the Doomsayer. Think about it, the Doomsayer has a
long and valid history in the public eye, from biblical times to the y2k
thing. His thing seems to be focusing on a Doom and warning the world about
it / stopping it. It has light and dark sides (light = stopping it, dark =
feeding off of people's fears, making it happen). I'm not sure if Doomsayer
would be the proper term, since that connotes more of the warning aspect
than the stopping in my mind, but I can't think of anything better.
Doomsaver? Sounds super-cheesy.

Exactly! I prefer the focused aspect. Make the taboo something
like "paying attention to any other aspect of the apocalypse." For example,
a Y2k-Doomsayer would belittle any nuclear ending to the world, becuase his
ending is Right. Of course, with a time-based doom like that, you're just
asking for it.

How about a "prevent the apocalypse" ability. Ie, make the roll,
and the bomb will not go off, no matter what. The person does not ascend.
The virus is benign. Make it as long as you keep the bomb/person/whatever
in line of sight, giving you time to deal with it without worrying about
what is going to happen. That way it can be in tune with the Avatar's
vision of the apocalypse.
