you'd think so, wouldn't you? some friends of mine once went to a cyberpunk
game that took place in several locations throughout an evening. sounded
cool, but one of the locations turned out to be the middle of a council
estate. the players got pulled over in their car by a bunch of npcs in
balaklavas, who jumped out screaming and shouting and firing blank pistols!
somehow they all avoided being arrested by the police (or being shot at by
the local scallies).
i'm a big fan of lrp-ing, but i can see how a lot of people could get put
off the whole thing. i guess it depends on how you get introduced to it

fair enough. i've never been to a convention, let along lrp-ed at one, so i
had these images of guys running around among the tables htting each other
with fake swords :)
