Just a handle, man.  One of the guys from the ShadowRN list has (or had) this 
great little sig that talked about how in ancient times names were thought to 
have great power over an individual, and so everyone adopted a different name 
to be known as, keeping their own secret.  It ended with:  history repeats 
itself.   I always liked that.  :-)
