>Hmm..ok. How about a Mage weakens his physical connection to the
>Element while strengthening his spiritual component. Thus, a fire
>mage is a master of controlling fire with his magick - but is also
>physically very vulnerable. Similarly, water mages would need to be
>dehydrated, and go around eating salt and sand. Earth mages would be
>waiflike, and couldn't touch the Earth (Like the guys in the Anubis
>Gate). Air mages...um...can't breathe...

Fire mages grow fearfully cold. The older and stronger they become, the
worse it is. They have to drink liquids quickly, before they freeze, and
unless they remain bundled in heavy clothing, they could easily freeze to
death in the middle of a hot summer.

Water mages grow dessicated. They have to drink constantly; if they fail to
do so, they start to petrify. If a water mage goes without water for more
than a few hours, he'll slowly transform into a pillar of salt.

Earth mages grow light. They need to wear lead weights just to keep from
floating away. The older earth mages become fragile, liable to pop like a
soap bubble if they are struck too hard. They can often be seen crouched
outside, gobbling down earth and stone to restore their solidity.

Air Mages must remain in constant motion, must always have the wind upon
their skin. They must sleep in open carts, pulled across the countryside,
or be attended by an army of servants with tremendous fans. Without this,
they begin to suffocate. The older Air mages can no longer eat, and must
subsist upon the scents of food.

Necromancers must not touch anything that lives, or that once lived. Dead
wood will put down roots and begin to grow wildly, wool will start to grow
and perhaps even take the form of a newborn ram. The merest brush of a
master Necromancer's hand can make a woman pregnant, and he cannot let his
foot rest upon a blade of grass, lest he be knocekd to the ground by the
speed of its growth.

Hey, this is fun....

"I do not hear him knockin', sir."
