Maybe earlier on, but I'd say that by now Western cultural influence is
such that the West is the most powerful area - as in the Hollywood example,
but also consider Coke, capitalism (not a strictly Western invention, but
its current forms are), and Elvis.  

The Unwanted Child might be an interesting Archetype now that China has the
one-baby rule.
