Graaaahr!  Little man should not call Savage-Who-Walks-The-Internet
'hamfisted.'

Actually, it's my bid for immortality.  By tying myself to the concept of
an "epoch," I will last as long as the current one, and, obviously,
an epoch is the period of time of one IC.  So this epoch won't end until
all of the slots fill up.

But the slots /can't/ all fill up until the Comte is both the first /and/
the last man.  So everyone else needs to die before the Comte can Ascend.
But I won't die until the Comte Ascends.

By which it is clear that I am the Comte.  Thank you very much, ladies and
gentlemen, I'll be here all epoch.
