Something just struck me - presumably the Ascended incarnation of an
Archetype is still bound (even more strongly) by the taboos of the Archetype
(is this the case). If this is the case, then presumably some Archetypes
have taboos that would prevent them from trying to stop another Godwalker
from taking their spot - although I'm hard pressed to think of any examples.

Another aspect is that some archetypes are strongly linked to weaknesses or
blind-spots - for example, the True King (Arthur-style) is very susceptible
to betrayal from the people he loves (Lancelot, Mordred), and so the
embodiment of the archetype might be unable to act against some threats, or
even to perceive the threat.

Of course, for many other archetypes, ruthlessly suppressing competition is
very much the essence of the archetype - although again I can't think of any
examples :-)

One last possibility occurs to me - maybe, if you can get an IC member to
break their taboos enough, you can get them to drop out of the IC.
