Hi Hsein,

dck files are Trnsys input files. They may be created by trnsys since the studio interface.
tpf file are created by the studio. Studio helps you to create dck files.
The simulation is running with dck file, not with tpf file. When you run a simulation, Trnexe search dck file, created automaticaly with studio.
To see how is named your dck file, check your control cards :

To create manualy your dck file in studio select this :

To understand the differences between dck and tpf file, you can try create a simple dck file with studio, save it in tpf file, create a dck file and try to import dck file with the studio.
In parallel you can also open the dck file with a text editor to see how it is built.

Best regards

Hello there,

I am trying to use the TRNOPT tool. What I realized is that the tool allows selecting certain files namely TRNSYS input files (.dck) and TRNSED files.

However, the project I am working on is a .tpf file. When I open it in the trnopt software, no variables appear in the variables box. I tried saving the file as .dck but it didn't work. Anyone have an idea about this problem?!! Please help.

Thanks in advance...
