The "hot side" and "cold side" in the tank is an unfortunate
historical leftover from Type4's original use as a tank in a solar
water heating application. Those names don't really have any
physical meaning except in the case in which you have selected an
inlet temperature mode that automatically sets the location of the
inlets. If you choose the Type4 mode that allows you to set the
locations of the inlets and outlets you can ignore its reference to
a "hot" and a "cold" side. If you do use the automatic inlet/outlet
positioning mode then the "hot side" inlet is at the top of the tank
and the "hot side" outlet is at the bottom. The "cold side" inlet is
at the bottom of the tank and the "cold side" outlet is at the top.<br>

the absorption chiller,as the available connection/link is the
Cold side temperature which has already been used by the
chilled water temperature.</p>
