Idris,
The design outlet fluid temperature is the outlet fluid temperature
that you would get if all the inlet conditions were at the design
condition. The design outlet fluid temperature is not a "set point"
temperature that the tower is trying to achieve. If you are trying
to achieve a certain outlet temperature then you have to set that
temperature as the 8th input and you have to set the fan control
signal (input 7) to -1 (as it says in the "more" buttons for the
Type). If you are not trying to control the outlet liquid
temperature but just want it to be closer to the wetbulb temperature
then you have to increase the air flow rate that the fans are
providing.
-Fan control signal error

Idris,
The error message doesn't have to do with the fan control
signal. The error is that the model cannot determine the
energy transfer coefficients for the tower given the
parameters that you have entered. For example, if you give a
design outlet fluid temperature that is below the design wet
bulb temperature then it is physically impossible for a
tower to deliver such an outlet water temperature and the
model will generate the error that you received. The fan
control signal appears involved because the energy transfer
coefficients are only calculated if the tower is actually on
and running.

Dear all,
I'm currently working on a project using a chiller and type 510 cooling tower. The project is given error when the fan control signal is set at 1 at the input tab. What do you think is the cause of this error? Schematics and error message of the project attached.Thank you.
