David,<br>
Your methodology would certainly work so long as you are not using
a shading mask (*.shm file) in Type56. If you are using the shading
mask that TRNBuild can generate then make sure that your buildings
are all drawn far away from each other in Trnsys3D so that they do
not shade each other.<br>
<br>
When I have simulations in which I am dealing with many slight
variations from one project to another I rely quite a lot on a
text-compare tool such as CompareIt and I look a lot at the *.dck
and *.b17 files. Even if you aren't very familiar with the syntax of
these files the differences from one project to another become much
more obvious than if you are looking at those same differences from
the respective interfaces (Studio and TRNBuild). I still make all my
changes in the interfaces and I use the comparison tool just to make
sure that there aren't any unintentional differences between the
projects.<br>
Kind regards,<br>

<div>Dear all,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I'm tasked with simulating different optimisation
strategies for serveral buildings. There are about 10
buildings with</div>
<div>3-5 strategies mainly consisting of changing only wall
layers or windows. My first approach was to create a base
version</div>
<div>and then copy the project file for each variant. But this
leads to quite a few project files and makes adding or
changing</div>
<div>things like heating types or schedules tedious and prone to
errors.</div>
<div>An idea was to create just one building project file per
building with several independent zones which contain the</div>

drawbacks to this approach? Or does TRNBuild include a
solution</div>
<div>that I'm not aware of? And if not, how do/would you handle
this?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Thanks in advance!</div>
