The short answer to your question is that no, there is no way that
TRNSYS can send you an email when it completes. I did write a
component that plays a sound when one of its inputs is triggered
because I wanted to know when my simulation ran into a particular
combination of conditions. You'd have to monitor the simulation but
at least it would alert you. The component is in the Trnsys17 TESS
Utility Library.<br>

There is also a "triggered printer" component in the TESS Utility
Library that will write to a file when its input is triggered. I'm
not sure how you would trigger the printer when an error occurs
because at that point the simulation is stuck.<br>

Lastly, which version of TRNSYS are you running? With the release of
Trnsys16 in 2004, the window data for a particular building was
contained in the building description file (*.bui or later in
Trnsys17 *.b17). It shouldn't need to go find anything in the
w4-lib.dat. If you are picking different windows from one
optimization to another, you can include them all in the *.bui each
with a different ID, then choose the window ID that you want to run
in a particular iteration of your optimization.<br>
