María,<br>
The short answer is "no, not really." Parameters are intended to
be numerical values. The "string" option in the parameter list of
units is for the situation in which you have defined a variable name
that is set to a numerical value. You are on the right track with
defining special cards in the proforma. The Type itself will need to
be able to accept a LABELS statement. The first special card would
be always set to:<br>
<br>
LABELS 1<br>
<br>
then another special card would be set to the user-defined value.
You can look at the way that Type62 and Type155 are done both at the
proforma level and at the source code level.<br>
<br>
Kind regards,<br>

<div>I would like to include string information as a parameter in
a cycle. Is that possible? I defined a proforma to include it,
and changed the source code to jump that new parameter. However,
when TRNSYS performs the type_check, it detects the string
information as a Variable, and fails. Is there any code or
reserved work to include string information apart from comments?
I also tried to include them as Special cards, but TRNSYS fails
again. I require that the information could be updated by the
user.</div>
