Robert,
There is not a way to directly transfer an IES VE model to TRNSYS.
However, using loads generated by IES and imposing them on a TRNSYS
system is fairly simple. To do so, you make use of one of two models
that are available in the TESS Loads and Structures library: Type682
for imposing loads onto a liquid flow stream or Type693 for imposing
loads on an air stream. In so doing, you unfortunately lose the
interaction between load and system.

I created a component (type165) in
TRNSYS 16 under windows 7 using Microsoft Visual

connected to a weather data reader, pump, and hot
water storage tank. In the simulation studio, the
simulation stalls at a specific time without any error
message. I believe that the simulation is not able to
converge at that time which is making TRNSYS
irresponsive. I have been trying to debug the
component, however an error message {Unable to start
program ‘C:\Program

F5 (debug) is clicked. The file (Type165Lib.dll) do

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] equation length limit
Dear Group,
What is the limit on the length of an equation? eg. a = b +
c + d + ... + xxx
Is it limited to "string length" or number of terms or what?
Subject: [TRNSYS-users] mismatch between type 30a and type99
Hello all,

I am trying to use type 30a to model collector array shading
on my PV panel rows. I ran some test simulations and there
seems to be a mismatch between type 30a and weather data
file in the total radiation that reaches the surface.

I set the following parameters to type 30 and to type 99
(weather data):

- slope of surface = 45
- azimuth angle of surface = 0

also in type 30:

-slope of field = 0

Then I set the row separation in type 30 to value 100 m.
(there should be no shading between PV arrays)

When I log the total radiation on surface from type 30 and
type 99 there is a mismatch. The radiation level of type 30
is always a little lower than in the type 99. Does anyone
know how this is possible? have I possibly made wrong
connections?

Best regards. Santeri Siren
