If you are seeing a row of asterisks like that, it is usually that
you are trying to use a formatted write statement and that you
haven't provided enough space to write the number. For example, if
you try and write the number 10000.0 and you use the Fortran format
code F2.1, the number cannot be written in the space provided so you
end up with *** instead.<br>
