Rebecca,
When I first started using SketchUp, I used the value control box
as follows: click to start a line, click to end the line, enter the
dimension in the value control box before clicking anywhere else. It
worked fine BUT I don't think it was intended to. I think the
correct procedure (and the one that works in TRNSYS3D) is as
follows: click to start a line, move the mouse to get the line
pointing in the proper direction (BUT DON"T CLICK!!!) then enter the
dimension in the value control box and press enter.
best,
Dear Rebecca,

I am not familiar with your particular issue as I have never had
a problem specifying lengths/distances of lines and push/pulls
with the value control box with TRNSYS3D. However, you may have a
different drawing setting (Window -> Preferences ->
Drawing).
Best regards,
