There are two ways to open the *.idf.

1.) the Plugins menu: Plugins --> Trnsys3d --> Open

2.) the T3d open icon (see attached)

Again, do not save any *.skp, do not worry about any *.skp, and do not open any *.skp. All of the information is in the *.idf.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy
Dear TRNSYS Users,

There seems to be this question very often. Please remember to work in the TRNSYS3D plugin (Open, Save, Close the *.idf) and NOT open/close/save in SketchUp (*.skp). You do not even need to save any *.skp.

Thank you,
I am so sorry to ask a so easy question but I didn't find how to link a wall to several others zones.
Indeed, in the object info we can only choose one zone.
But, if I cut my zone into 2 parts and, for example, erase the adjacent wall to recreate it in trnbuild, after, there is no more interest to use sketchup and it would be quicker to do everything in trnbuild.

Is there anyone who already met this problem?
Do you have a solution ?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
<I am attempting to run the « Soil Noding 2D » plugin for sketchup.
Unfortunately I did not reach to build any mesh in the text file. In
fact, I have the following messages but no mesh at the end of the
procedure : TESS Soil & Slab Noding program for TRNSYS 17. How far
the building is the temperature of the soil assumed unaffected by the
building…. Has someone good knowledge of this plugin ? >

Did you answer the question posed by the plugin? Put in something like 10
meters and hit enter. Then continue to answer the questions until the
program informs you that the data file has been created. We use it all
the time!
