    Charles,<br>
     Trnsys16 is very stable when it comes to saving projects so I doubt
    that the files are lost. Could you please send me one of the *.tpf
    files that you are unable to open? I'll see if I can get it to open
    with one of my versions.<br>

                      I would highly recommend removing your Trnsys
                    installation from the Program Files directory. With
                    Windows 7 and Vista, the operating system is very
                    strange about whether it allows read/write
                    privileges and whether it shows you any files. It
                    tries to keep a lot hidden so that you don't
                    accidentally delete things. If you install Trnsys16
                    (or 17) in a different directory (I have mine in
                    c:\PF\Trnsys16_1\) these strange problems will go
                    away.<br>

                                can access the “simulation log” window
                                (and then, I suppose, the
                                STEC_STORAGE.log file!). But if I try to
                                open the “list file” he gives me the
