TRNSYS goes once through your input file to make sure that you have
all the equations that you reference. It checks for three types of
keywords, CONSTANTS, EQUATIONS, and the END statement. TRNSYS actually
only looks at the first three letters of a variable name and if it sees
a variable that starts with END or CON or EQU, it can't tell whether
that is a variable or a keyword. When the Studio writes equations, it
sometimes assigns variables that start with those three letters. The
best thing to do is to take the TRNSED file and run through it with
Edit: Replace and change all of the equations that start with END, CON,
or EQU to something else (EEND, CCON, or EEQU for example).<br>

a problem regarding Type 14 Night Setback. I kept parameters 3, 5, 7,

“ENDOFNIG,
ENDOFNI1, BEGINOFN, BEGINOF1” in the .trd file, resp. However, when
I try to run the TRNSED file, the simulation stops from “illegal
variable

which the names are set equal to the value as would be input by the
user, in
the top section below “***Model Night Setback (Type 14, Unit 22)”.
In the second section under “Unit 22 Type 14 Night Setback”, you
can see these variable names again with the component parameter names
to the right.
The simulation proceeds without problems only when I manually type over
these
variable names with the integer value I want them to be (in the .trd
file
itself). TRNSED-User-defined variables are done this way for other
components
in the same file but there only seems to be a problem with this
