You're on the correct track. Specify a massive layer for the half of
the screed that is above the active layer. Next, define and add the
active layer. As soon as you do, a massive layer equal in thickness to
your first one will be created below the active layer. I wasn't aware
of the need to subtract out the thickness of the pipes from the massive
layer.<br>

from the Type56 documentation is that I start with a massive layer for
the screed. This should have a depth of the real screed (75mm) minus
the radius of the radient pipes ( 20mm/2 = 10mm) This would give me a
65mm screed layer. I would then define the active layer which defines
the pipe work. Is this correct?<br>
