<DIV class=RTE>Dear TRNSYS Users:</DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>I am trying to understand how Type 107 (Single effect hot water fired absorption chiller) internally works. I have already readen the description from the MathematicalReference included with TRNSYS Manual as well as the source code file. I think I understand how it works, but there is one point that is not so clear for me.</DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>When Type 107 calls the TRNSYS Dynamic Data subroutine, it returns a <FONT color=#0000ff>"<FONT face=ArialMT size=2>fraction of the machine’s rated capacity that is available given the hot water entering temperature. This reduced capacity is called the nominal capacity as opposed to the rated capacity". (from the Mathematical reference). <FONT color=#000000>This reference also includes the equation 5.4-95:</FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT size=2> <FONT color=#0033ff>Capacity = f<FONT size=1>fullloadcapacity</FONT>*f<FONT size=1>nominalcapacity</FONT>*Capacity</FONT></FONT><FONT color=#0033ff size=1>rated</FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT size=2>But im not sure which from the fractions appearing in last equation is returned by the Dynamic Data subrotine.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT size=2>When reading at the sorce code, after calling Dynamic Data, a factor FNC is obtained.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT size=2>And then, I read:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT color=#0000ff size=2>NOMINALCAP = DESIGNCAP</FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT color=#0000ff size=2>CAPACITY = NOMINALCAP*FNC</FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT color=#000000></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>It seems to me as it declares that the nominal capacity is the same as the design capacity (DESIGNCAP, passed as parameter(1) to the Type. Then, i can not see how the source code reproduces equation 5.4-95. </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>Is the value FNC returned by DynamicData <FONT color=#0033ff><FONT size=2>f</FONT><FONT size=1>fullloadcapacity <FONT color=#000000> <FONT size=2>or <FONT color=#0033ff>f<FONT size=1>nominalcapacity</FONT></FONT>? Why is equalled the nominal and design (rated??) capacity in the source code?? Is it done, or do i understand something wrong??</FONT></FONT></FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT size=2>Maybe I´m just confusing everything, but I´m not able to understand how it really works. Any possible explanation would be very useful for me.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT size=2>Thank you in advance</FONT></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
