Jibi,

  If you have not already looked at it, I would recommend section 
7.4.4.4. of the 07-Programmer's Guide manual. In Trnsys17 (and 18) 
Type16 calls a subroutine called getIncidentRadiation(), which does the 
actual calculations. If you do not find what you are looking for in 
section 7.4.4.4 then you may have to go looking for the reference from 
which those equations are taken (Solar Engineering of Thermal Processes 
by Duffie and Beckman)
