[TRNSYS-users] Battery - type47a

Gokula,

   I have a Li-ion battery model written; it is planned for eventual 
release in the TESS Libraries but there is not yet a timeline. From my 
experience, I would say that Type47 is not very good for modeling Li-ion 
batteries. The current/voltage characteristic, especially close to the 
fully-charged point of a Li-ion battery is quite different than it is 
for a lead-acid battery.

  If you are getting energy balance problems with Type47 and higher 
rates of charge/discharge, one thing I would look at is whether the 
energy balance improves when you shorten the time step.

  The development schedule for the actual Li-ion battery model could be 
moved up and the model could be available as an individual component in 
the near term. Please contact me directly if you are interested.
