[TRNSYS-users] TRNFLOW or MATHIS ?

Yossef,
Please note that Type98 is supported by other NIST-developed tools (public domain) that greatly simplify the definition and coupling between the building models for both Type56 and CONTAM.
Please see the Working with TRNSYS section of the CONTAM User Guide.
There is also a demonstration case available in the CONTAM user group.

Yossef,

I am not familiar with Mathis and have used TRNFlow only a little. I have, however, used Type97 quite a lot for air flow modeling. Type97 provides a link between Trnsys and an airflow modeling tool called CONTAM. There is a slight disadvantage in that the building has to be defined both in both TRNSYS and in CONTAM. However, the transparency and the flexibility of the link make it worth it. Type97 (and its expanded version Type98) are both part of the standard Trnsys18 library.

kind regards,

 David

Hi,

we want to buy an airflow modelling tool for trnsys but we hesitate between TRNFLOW and type 159 Mathis-TRNSYS. Could you please advise us about this, especially which is the easiest one to use.

Regards,
Yossef
