Ravinda,

There is a pressure reducing valve component in the TESS CHP library.
It is typically used in steam applications and assumes steam as the
working fluid.

Typically we do not model refrigeration systems at the heat exchanger
/ compressor / expansion valve level but take the whole cycle as a
component. The time constant of the transient behavior within the
refrigeration cycle is so small that a typical TRNSYS time step (1-5
minutes in the kind of systems that we work with) that the refrigeration
loop can be seen as steady state. We therefore assign a COP that is
dependent on the external inlet conditions (such as temperature and
humidity of the air on the condenser and evaporator sides).

kind regards,

  David
