<p class="MsoNormal">Recognising that system and plant performance is a global issue this joint CIBSE and ASHRAE symposium will give a platform to the latest practice and research from around the world in active and passive building systems that will shape
an effective future for the built environment with minimum resource impact.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The fourth annual Technical Symposium will take place on 3rd-4th April 2014 in Dublin and aims to encourage the participation of young and experienced researchers and industry practitioners to share experiences and develop networks.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">• Maintaining and improving legacy building systems<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• The development and impact of benchmarks, standards and regulatory measures<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">This list is not exhaustive but provides the intended context of the Technical Symposium that will focus on aspects that are of interest to CIBSE and ASHRAE members. Material is welcomed based on recent or current research and application
as well as the actual or potential impact of that research on the built environment.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">For the first time this year there are additionally opportunities for the presentation of relevant case studies supported by keynotes (as opposed to a formal paper).<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">All papers will be peer reviewed and published electronically through CIBSE. Selected papers may be developed for publication in BSERT.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">- Early October 2013 – Authors selected to proceed will be advised and specifically invited to prepare draft material suitable for oral or for poster delivery.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- 15th November 2013 – Selected authors submit draft manuscripts of full paper (between 3000 and 5000 words), or the draft poster, or case study keynotes for peer review<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Mid December 2013 – Authors receive reviewers’ comments and develop final submission following review, and subject to acceptance by the reviewers/technical committee.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- 19th January 2014 – Deadline for submission of the final paper/poster, or case study keynotes<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The Symposium Technical Committee will allocate submissions to oral or poster sessions and at any stage reserves the right to reject any submission<o:p></o:p></p>
