"In recent years, the building performance industry has seen a shift from
energy-based goals to ones centered on GHG reduction, grid harmonization,
and resiliency, with a deeper emphasis on load management and
neighborhood-scale planning," says Carrie Brown, conference chair. "This
year's conference theme, Integrated Building Design and Analysis to Achieve
Zero Carbon, is designed to highlight these cutting-edge building
performance topics."
Building modeling professionals and practitioners are invited to submit
presentation proposals between 15-30 minutes in length or 45-90 minute
panel and seminar sessions. Proposals can cover a broad range of topics
addressing the needs of the building performance modeling community.
Creative and interactive presentation formats are strongly encouraged.
The 2020 Building Performance Analysis Conference and SimBuild requests the
following submission types:
- Individual presentations on projects, research or career/business
development topics
- Panel with three to four industry experts on a current topic of
interest or team case study
- Seminar Session with a chair and one to four speakers on one of the
following topics
Topic categories include:
- Low Carbon Future
- New Technology and Trends
- Health, Wellness and Comfort
- Energy Performance and System Simulation
- Codes & Standards and Programs
*Presentation proposals are due March 23, 2020*. If accepted, presentations
will be due in July 2020. For a full list of presentation topics and more

(LDSd)
which will take place at the *2020 Building Performance Analysis Conference
and SimBuild

Deadline
to Sign-up extended to March 20th. *
Each year at the LDSd competition, we ask participating teams to take on a
new challenge in building performance analysis. For 2020 when we ask the
question “How low can you go?” we are not only talking about energy
use. Taking a page from New York City’s groundbreaking new Climate
Mobilization Act that requires building owners to reduce their carbon
footprint, the 2020 LDSd challenges participants to design a new building
that has a low carbon or carbon neutral footprint.
The 2020 LDSd model building will be located in New York
City. Participating Teams will design a 300,000 sf, 15 story mixed-use
building located anywhere in the five boroughs. The building will contain
retail space, residential space and a full-service restaurant.
*The deadline to sign up to participate in the ASHRAE LowDown Showdown is
March 20th. LowDown Showdown participants must be registered to attend
the 2020 Building Performance Analysis Conference & SimBuild

August 12-14, 2020 in Chicago, IL. The conference registration deadline is
