David Bosworth of Apidae Labs will discuss and demonstrate their suite of tools (Calibrator, Influence, Accelerator, Factors and Chronicle) that help engineers and architects improve the accuracy, processing speed and analysis of their building models.

We will also have a discussion about the work that goes into model optimization and running multiple parallel simulations in the cloud.

For a preview of the tools and more information, please go to www.apidaelabs.com<http://www.apidaelabs.com>.

Our presenter:

* David Bosworth received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1998 from Swarthmore College and his Masters of Architecture from Cornell University in 2010. He has been pursuing his diverse interests in the built environment ever since through career traversals of robotics labs at the Harvard Center for Astrophysics, the drafting chairs of Lawrence Sorli Architecture in Carlisle Massachusetts, his own cabinetry, building, and general contracting business, solar powered house design and build for Cornell University through the Solar Decathlon, and a stint with the Program in Computer Graphics at Cornell working on EnergyPlus source code and developing interfaces to EnergyPlus.

* Since his completion of the Masters of Architecture program at Cornell in 2009, David is a founding member of BUILDlab, which has been providing energy modeling, design, fabrication, and construction services in and around Ithaca New York for the last five years. He was the lead programmer and PI on development of the Apidae system.

* David is a member of ASHRAE and serves on the SPC205 and TC 4.7 committees. He is also a member of IBPSA and has served on scientific committees and the emerging technologies committee for IBPSA USA.
