This month we are very excited to have Mary Ann Piette and Thianzhen Hong from LBL (Lawrence Berkeley Lab) to present about their new CBES performance analysis tool-see attached flyer for more info its main features like Energy Star and Energy IQ Benchmarking, retrofit analysis via E+ engine, third party retrofit comprehensive apps development, the PIER Program, three levels of audits, 100+ ECMs, cost analysis and much more.
Speakers bios:
Mary Ann Piette is a Staff Scientist and the Director of the Building Technology and Urban Systems (BTUS) Division of LBNL. She is also the Director of the Demand Response Research Center (DRRC).  The DRRC develops DR technology and the Open Automated Demand Response standard, which is a key element of the NIST Smart Grid standards. Ms. Piette develops and evaluates low-energy and demand response technologies for buildings.  She specializes in commissioning, energy information systems, benchmarking, and diagnostics.  In 2006 Ms Piette received the Benner Award at the National Conference on Building Commissioning for contributions to making commissioning "business as usual". Ms. Piette completed her undergraduate work at UC Berkeley in Physical Science.  She has a Master's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Licentiate in Building Services Engineering from the Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

Tianzhen Hong is a Staff Scientist and Deputy Leader of the Simulation Research Group of the BTUS Division at LBNL. He is leading the EnergyPlus development at LBNL, a co-Operating Agent of the IEA EBC Annex 66 on occupant behavior research, and a member of the IBPSA-USA board of directors. His research focuses on innovative methods and tools to advance energy modeling and data analytics, supporting low-energy design, operation, and retrofit of buildings. Mr. Hong has a PhD and BEng in HVACR and a BSc in Applied Mathematics from Tsinghua University, China.
