Job Description

Title:              Associate Energy Analyst
Grade:           Associate
Group:         Building Environments Group
Location:      New York
Region:         North America - New York Office
Reporting:    Principal


To provide technical and organizational leadership to the building physics/analysis team within the New York office and North East Region of United States. The role also involves responsibility for co-management of the wider building environments group in North America, along with undertaking the role of Project Manager for direct Energy Analysis related projects.

Requirements:


·         Extensive experience in the design and delivery of low energy buildings including natural ventilation design, daylight, façade performance, thermal comfort, HVAC system analysis and low carbon technologies

·         Expertise in using analysis tools such as dynamic thermal modeling, daylight analysis  and computational fluid dynamics to quantify building performance

·         Management of people, commercial issues and an interface with senior management and the wider practice.

·         Leadership, management  and delivery of multiple projects across the team's portfolio

·         Promoting technical innovation, and producing high quality work

·         Fostering strong relationships with other groups, in particular with other engineering teams within Buro Happold as well as regional responsibility, the role also includes forming part of the strategic leadership team for the global  Building energy analysis group.


Essential Experience:


·         Experienced technical and project leader; track record of successful delivery over a sustained period within the industry.

·         Mentoring and leading others, developing individuals skills, whilst encouraging collaboration and cohesive teamwork.

·         Overseas project experience.

·         Diverse sectors.

·         Experienced user of IES Virtual Environment and CFD code

·         Daylighting Analysis experience

·         Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills


Desirable Experience:


·         Business development experience.

·         Involvement with professional, legislative and academic bodies.




Qualifications:

·         Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline.

·         Post-graduate degree or Masters qualified ideally.
