My name is Brandon Swingle and I am a recruiter at Dow Corning Corporation. I am currently recruiting for an Energy Modeling Specialist in Midland, MI.

This is an exciting opportunity that will strongly contribute to Building System technical expertise and technology development in a range of cutting edge technologies. Reporting into the Construction business unit, this role will enhance Dow Corning's capabilities to use modeling to support our different programs and platforms.  She/he will:

*         Develop DC expertise in thermal and condensation modeling of both building components and whole buildings that will include novel insulation and glass technologies.

*         Guide the DC Construction Industry on what software and modeling tools to use for specific applications.

*         Both do modeling and subcontract modeling to the relevant research institutes and universities.

*         Work with building system component fabricators and suppliers to significantly contribute to building design and prototype development.

*         Actively participate and lead certain aspects of stakeholder training associated with building systems, including those containing insulation materials.

Requirements:

*         Masters level in Engineering (Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Material Science, Architect, Structural Engineer) with a proven track record of simulation work in a design environment.

*         The candidate must demonstrate professional knowledge of the construction industry in general and building technology in particular.

*         Required skills include transient energy simulation, thermal comfort assessment, building envelope thermal modeling, climate analysis.

*         The candidate must demonstrate deep understanding of the difference between code compliance modeling and building performance simulation.

*         Candidate must be able to be proficient at CAD, Therm, Bisco, Trisco, Window, Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS, STRAND, ABAQUS,) energy modeling (Energy Plus, Design Builder) and hygrothermal modeling (WUFI).

*         He/she has about 5 years experience in the field of modeling.
