During our last Zoom call, I mentioned that Google has been pouring a massive amount of resources into getting people back into offices as soon as possible.  They had been targeting July 7, 2021 as the date that people would be able to return to their offices in the US.

We received word this morning that the date has been pushed back to September 1, 2021 at the earliest.

If Google doesn't feel comfortable bringing people together this summer given their infinite resources etc etc, I think the likelihood of our families being able to pull it off a July 4th reunion safely is extremely slim.  Punting to 2022 seems like the right call to me.
