Next week I would like everyone to help celebrate the 20th
anniversary of the BLDG-SIM mailing list. On March 4, 1999 I
posted the first message:

http://onebuilding.org/archive/bldg-sim-onebuilding.org/1999-March/000229.html

Bill Clinton was president, people were concerned about Y2K, and
the first Blackberry had just been released.

At the time, I invited everyone I knew personally in the building
simulation industry and posted some messages to related mailing
lists. Word of mouth grew the list to over 300 subscribers a year
later and it is now nearly 2400 subscribers. The eQUEST-users,
HAP-users, and TRACE-users lists split off in 2008 and in 2014
trnsys-users moved to the onebuilding.org server.

Overall, it has been a incredible journey to try to help the
building energy modeling community which has been so supportive to
me personally.

To celebrate I would encourage everyone to post fun items related
to the mailing list and building energy modeling during the week
of March 4 to 10.

Feel free to post:

- pictures (maybe some "buildings" that look like the number 20,
or comparison picture of you from 1999 and now)

- jokes (simulation related, is that possible?)

- stories (what has changed in 20 years and what has not?)

- thank you's (publicly thank those who have helped you over the
years)

- contests (worst simulation pun?)

Go ahead and cross post to BLDG-SIM and eQUEST-users and please
indicate in the subject line "20th" so others (boring people) can
filter it out.

Thanks to all of you!
