I do it by making the intersecting ceiling of the first floor and
the same area on the second floor floor at least the same zone
footprint or multiple zones to make up this area of intersection. I
think eQuest will default the whole ceiling of the first floor to a
roof if any of it is exposed.<br>
As John mentioned use the DD wizard. You then need to change the
overlapping zones on the first floor ceiling so they reflect being
not exposed to the exterior but to the zone above on the second
floor. You leave the exposed part of the first floor ceiling as
roof. Any part of the second floor exposed to the exterior has to
be changed as well to reflect this condition. The trick that allows
you to do this is getting the 2 intersecting areas the same so you
can adjust them easily using the wizard. Later you can put the
different zones together or apart as you need to model your HVAC
system.<br>
I'm sorry this is a little sketchy but I haven't done it in a while
and am going off memory to get you a quick answer. I'm sure you can
figure it out if I have missed anything.<br>
